Whew! This is a very long post but we had such a great time on vacation that all the pictures must be included. Mid June we took off for vacation and drove from Indy to West Virginia in the late evening. We still had Josh with us, so he got the opportunity to take his first big vacation. The boys really did great in the car (thank goodness for the DVD player)! I prayed for good weather for this trip and we only hit hard rain that first evening, but it passed quickly. We stayed over night in Charleston, West Virginia and then got up early the next morning to finish our drive to Virginia Beach Virginia, where we met my parents and then my sister, who lives there.
Once we got to Virginia Beach, we got to catch up with everyone and see my 2 youngest nieces who I had not seen for so long- in fact, I had not even met Jazzy yet! They are so sweet and such good good girls! It was also soooo good to see my sister. That evening we went to a delicious BBQ dinner and got to see where Whitney lives. She is doing so great out there! We are very proud of her!
The next day we had planned to go to the beach, however, it was a rainy, cloudy, cool day, so we decided to visit the aquarium instead. It was packed, but we still had a good time!

We also saw a 3D movie about sea life. It was really fun!
By the time we were finished, the sun was out and it was perfect for a visit to the ocean. Neither Josh or Nolan had seen the ocean, so it was fun!

That evening Whitney's boyfriend and his mom met us for dinner at a really good sea food restaurant on the beach. It was great to have everyone together!

The next day we spent the morning with Whitney and the girls at the beach again and got to see the hotel where she had been working- it was gorgeous!!

It was so hard to say goodbye to my sister and the girls. It was so comforting to see where they live though and know they are doing well! And..... what a great place to make a return visit!!
We headed to a quick lunch at the beach before we left- my beach baby didn't quite make it for lunch!
But was up in time for ICE CREAM! :)
That afternoon we headed for Chapel Hill, NC where we stayed overnight to cut up the drive a bit. Unfortunately, I was in the midst of my nausea with the pregnancy, so the driving wasn't always easy for me, but we made it! The next day we left NC and headed to our final destination of Greenville, SC where my dad had meetings and we would take in the events of the world auctioneer competition (my dad is an auctioneer and sits on the board of the association that hosts the event).
So- as we planned the trip we were thinking "oh, Greenville, SC- never heard of it, but it's SC, it will be something different!" It was BEAUTIFUL!! I would highly recommend Greenville to all! We stayed downtown and here was the hotel room:
The association had events planned for kids, so we kept busy everyday! We went to the children's museum, which was great. They had a huge plexiglass climbing gym inside:

The next day we went on a little treasure hunt through the town to find these mice they have hidden downtown. It was fun and then ended at this park in the middle of the downtown. It was soooo neat!
In the evenings we always had formal events with delicious dinners!

Our trip ended so fast and we all had to head back home. We made the full drive back to Indiana in one day. It was so long, but so worth it for such a great, great trip!!
