A Puppy School Update

So we haven't been overly impressed with our puppy classes however it has motivated us to work a little harder with Miloh at home and here's a snapshot of the progress he's made. We're pretty proud of him and we're having a lot of fun with it:

Sorry we don't have any other pictures. We had a really busy weekend. Friday night we went out to a fun dinner at McAlisters and then went and saw "My Sister's Keeper". Yeah.... I'm pretty sure I got all of my crying out for the month!! :) Saturday we had a BBQ at our house with a few neighbors, Jon's parents, and Jennifer and Marcus (the couple staying in our house while were gone). It was a great evening and we feel God has really blessed us with their friendship and their willingness to care for our home. Sunday I had a wedding shower and then we went to a BBQ to say a final goodbye to our friends who are headed to Florida. It was busy but fun and we don't take a minute for granted with these people that we are going to miss so much. We hope you all had a great weekend! J&H

A Hodge Podge of Events

We had a crazy busy weekend- Jon had class all week and then Saturday and Sunday (Father's Day) from 9-5. It was awful!! We do not spend a lot of time apart from each other, especially on the weekends, so this was no fun. I was pretty needy and lonely most of the weekend, so we were thankful when Wednesday came when he finally got a day off. We spent the evening swimming and just relaxing- a much needed break! I knew studying for the bar was not going to be fun.... but.... can it please be over now!?!?! Please continue to pray for Jon.

Here are some pictures from the last few days:

Happy Father's Day!! We love you dads!!
Jon's mom was so kind to come and watch one of our softball games. She took a few pictures of us in action. I know they are a little blurry. I mean.... what can I say.... we are just really fast! :) (actually quite the opposite!)

We ended up winning all of our games!! Woohoo!
Last night we took advantage of the hott day and took a dip in the pool. It was perfect!

And last but not least... A beautiful sunset!
We have a busy weekend full of BBQs and bridal showers. We'll have another post soon! We hope your all having a great summer! J&H

3 Years!

Sorry again for the absence of posts. This is a fun post though. Jon and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary this week. It's crazy that it's been 3 years! Where does the time go!?!? Our anniversary was yesterday and we host small group on Wednesdays so we had to do our fun event early. We debated about a bunch of fun and fancy things to do and decided on exactly opposite of fancy- we went to an Indians baseball game. It was so fun!

The stadium- the Indians are farm team in the city- they're pretty good though!
The mascot that kept us very entertained
The stadium from the inside- it was really nice and we had great seats!

The old couple!! :) Since it was a celebratory night, we had hot dogs, nachos, cracker jacks, dipn dots, and drinks- we splurged! :)
The view of the city from our seats
They won and we even got to see a home run. After the games on Friday nights they have fireworks, so that made the evening extra special!
Yesterday before small group we went out for a great meal at an Asian Grill in downtown Noblesville

Here's how we felt afterwards: ha!

Shawn & Jessica from small group were so sweet to make us a delicious cake! We decided to be cheesy and really re-live the day:
Cutting the cake.... aw....
Feeding each other..... aw.....
And the bests picture of all..... Jon stuffing cake in my face and making up for what he didn't get to do that day! :) It was such a fun anniversary! :) I love you Jonathan Hughes!

Miloh's First Day of School

I know when we have multiple little Hughes' running around our house I'll laugh at this blog... but for now.... Miloh is our pride and joy- so I'm posting about him! :) Isn't it funny that I feel like I have to defend myself! Anywho....Miloh started his first day of obedience school today. We finally caved and paid the money for 8 classes for him. We figured that before we moved again, we needed to have him trained a bit better.

After just an hour, he felt like a whole different puppy. It was like he was just waiting for someone to tap into his intellect and challenge him. He loved it! He learned "look at me" today and also some training with a "clicker". It's supposed to be a recall tool if he runs off. So far so good! :) He was exaughisted when we got home but has been a happy little puppy all day. He also got a new collar and leash. Here's a few pictures:

Before his class- "Puppy's first day of school!"
And with his dad after class. We'll go every Sunday (which works great since we go to church on Saturdays). We'll let you know if it was worth the $109.00!! :)

Small Group Photo Op

We've had a couple fun nights with our friends from small group this week. Ashley and Derek spent their last week with us so we were taking a bunch of pictures. I thought I'd share with you the great people here that we're going to be missing so much!

Monday night a bunch of us got together for coffee (Nikki-due in October!, Ashley, Me, Eva, and Leslie)
And the boys being silly like usual (Derek, Chris, Cory, Matt, & Jon)
This is our first small group baby- he's not a baby anymore. We love Aiden!
Final pictures before they leave- boys #1
Boys #2
BOYS #3
BOYS #4!!!!!
And one of the girls- we organize much better than the boys :)
And last but not least- a picture of all of us. We started with 3 couples in the small group and now were up to 18 people. We continue to grow in our relationships with Christ by digging deep into His word, sharing accountability with each other, and just living life together. Unfortunately not everyone was here (starting bottom left- Smiths, Leslie, Rieds, Cory, Taylors, Hughes, Millers, Powers). We're really going to miss everyone!!
