We celebrated Christmas at home in Indiana this year and were blessed to have my parents and Jon's parents with us. My parents drove in on Saturday evening and gave Nolan the present they couldn't wrap and that Izabel could not keep a surprise- his new horse! :)
We spent the evening showing Nolan off and giggling with Izzy.
On Sunday, we made a trip to Jon's aunt and uncles, Fred & Sis, to celebrate with that side of the family. Sis prepared chili and sides and we all sat and visited and played with the little ones. It's crazy how entertaining kids can be! We then opened gifts. I don't know how I managed to not get a single picture of the hosts, but here are a few pictures from the day:

Checking out his new toy
They even spoiled Izabel!!
Nolan was really enjoying the whole present thing

We gave all of the great grandparents a Nolan calendar. It was a hit!
The first part of the week, we spent time doing some house projects. My parents and Jon worked to do some detailing on the molding in our kitchen and then my dad repainted our scuffed up walls on the stairs. It looks so much better! We all get pedicures Monday evening (minus Jon who was hard at work) and picked up some subs for dinner. Unfortunately, my mom and Izabel ended up getting food poisoning, so they were down most of the day Tuesday. Izabel did help me make some Christmas candy for our neighbors. I felt terrible for them! Wednesday, Nolan and I came down with a cold, but we did a bit of shopping that day. Thursday, Jon took the day off and we finished up our shopping and surprised Izabel with an afternoon of ice skating!! She saw it on tv and had wanted to go for some time. My mom had the idea and it was great! Unfortunately, it was pretty dark in the rink, so we did get any action shots but here are a few pictures from the day:
Nolan hanging out with Grandma
Loving his sippy cup
The skaters!
Daddy and Nolan
Izzy was pretty nervous at first, but by the end of the 2 hours she was on her own and we had to pull her off the ice! It was a great time for her and Jon! :)
Friday (Christmas Eve), we took it easy in the morning and then went to an early Christmas Eve service at our church. Christmas Eve service is always my favorite part of Christmas! Here are some pictures of the family that afternoon:
Jon keeping us entertained as always:
After church, we went to Jon's parents for a delicious soup dinner! Unfortunately we weren't able to attend their midnight service this year!

Ready for bed in his Christmas jammies
My parents and Izabel gave him the coolest book where they had recorded themselves reading it. We read it several times a week!
And Izabel got one of her new favorite books!
My boy!
Christmas morning Jon's parents came over early and we got everything for the big reveal. Here's our sweet little family on Nolan's first Christmas:

Izzy and her new art easel
Unfortunately, Nolan was still not feeling well on Christmas, so he was pretty clingy and sleepy. He really was interested in the toys though- even more than I thought he would be
Izabel made out like a bandit!
My new coat!! Even looks great with pajama bottoms! :)
My handsome man on our 5th Christmas together!

Nolan got the cutest monkey that Katie made for him- it was love at first sight! :)
And this is the shirt she made him- my handsome guy!
Guess he likes this one too!
"Oooo this book is hilarious!"
And my new ride...
And my new chair....
And my new office.... trying to be like my dad already!
Grandpa & Grandma Mays
This is Jon, Dad, and Iz playing her new Kidz Dance game! We had a good laugh!
My parents stayed one more day after Christmas and then had to head back to Nebraska on Monday. It was so hard to see them go and to send Jon off to work that day! :( We miss them so much and wish we were all closer! Nolan and I spent the day resting and playing with his new toys. Things were much too quiet for both of us!
This week has been fun b/c we have been having our own little fashion show with all Nolan's adorable new clothes! Here he is in his new overalls and STANDING- not too steady- but STANDING!
We hope your Christmas was wonderful as well! It was certainly one to remember for us!
