A Visit From My Family

We have very busy around the Hughes household. We were blessed to have my parents come and stay with us for a week. It is always so great to have them near and we even got a few days alone with Izzie.... and we spoiled her rotten! :) Here are pictures from last week:

First, an update on Jon- he's studying like crazy and is so ready to be done. Just a few more days and it will all be over. Here's a brief look into what studying 10 hours a day does to you....
We spent several days visiting Bill and Dale and their pool. Izzie would live in this pool if she had a choice. Here she is floating with my dad:
Last Friday night we went to a Symphony on the Prairie. It's a concert out on the lawn and this concert was the symphony for a few songs and then Time For Three. It is a trio of young guys who play bluegrass. It was fabulous! Here's some pics from the night:
Izzie got a bit bored so we had to go role down the hill a few times

Another weird one of Jon! :)

My parents left for Reno on Sunday morning so Izzie and I dropped Jon off at the library and headed to the zoo. We had a great time! She was really in to it this year.

We got to feed a giraffe

A good amount of time was spent riding the carousel. She loves them!

It's cold in here!!!

And one more spin on the carousel.... all by herself!
Jon was kind enough to take an hour off here and there. Izzie loves her Jonny!
I can't imagine why.....

We picked him up for a picnic one afternoon- he's pretty exaughisted!

And we found another carousel!!

Izzie kinda loves her aunt Heather too. So much that she loves to wear my clothes. Here she is wearing a pair of my gouchos and a shirt of mine.... ha. :)
Sleeping with her best friend
Wednesday night we had small group. It was Erik's birthday.

One of the last few days we had to force Izzie into the bathtub. No time for baths when you're 5! Thank goodness for bubbles!
She cried the first 10 minutes of the bath until Harry and Moe came and performed a duet for her. She was all smiles after this....

We spent our last day packing. My parents took a ton of stuff home for us so that we didn't have to get a U-Haul. We decided we deserved something nice after all of this work on vacation so we all went for pedicures. Guys- you can't knock it until you've tried it!
It was Izzie's first pedicure. She wasn't too sure at first, but by the end she was quite pleased.

We went to our new fav Mexican restaurant that night and Izzie wanted to take a picture of Jon and I like at our wedding.... :)
Love you mom and dad!
And our last thing to do was get in a good game of hearts. Izzie was playing beautician:
I think I was getting my eyebrows colored here:
Saying goodbye :(
And how did we feel about them leaving........ Wilbur from the Hamilton County Fair said it best:
